One Month Into the Rural and Regional Digital Skills Program

The Australian Impact Group was pleased to launch the Rural and Regional Digital Skills Program  on the 17th of March with a showcase in partnership with the Department of Community Housing and Digital Economy, James Cook University and TAFE North Queensland that showcased the new jobs , research and opportunities that use digital economy.

Reflecting on not even one month we have seen a great uptake in the program. However, there is so much opportunity  for Rural and Regional Queenslanders to build their skills to support ever changing careers. If you know someone that you can think can benefit share the love.

There are 78 Local Government Areas in Queensland. We currently have participant representation in 17 Local Government Areas. The greatest representation has been in Townsville to Date but we have great uptake in Cairns,  Charters Towers, Mackay, Gold Goast and excitingly from our smaller regions such as Flinders and Cloncurry. The highest engaged participants are between 45-55 and a great proportion from over 55 highlighting the recognition of all age groups to build digital skills. That being said we commence our schools programs in term 2 so we expect the split to be quite strongly represented in under 18.

So what is the program all about !
